I'm new on here and recently got my first blade, it's a 1000 rr 4 and was wondering if anyone can explain the rev light, it seems to flash around 7k revs, does that mean change gear? Also when slip clutch revs go straight to around 8/9k light flashes straight away, iv tryed to pop a wheelie by slipping clutch but it seems like it has traction controll as it seems to feather the power in... Is this right or my clutch slipping?
On a RR7 you can change when the light activates. Not sure how I did it but I think it was in the owners manual and involved button presses and ignition key. F**k knows why someone would set it at 7k though, think I set mine to 10.5k.
I know people used to set them when running them in maybe it was just never changed back or maybe had some recent work that needed running in, it shouldn't affect proformance though as far as I know its just a light
To set the "SHIFT" light function press and hold "SEL", then turn the bike on. Release the "SEL" button and press the "RESET" button repeatedly until the needle is at the desired rpm for the shift light to activate. (anywhere from 4k-12k) After desired RPM is chosen, press "SEL" once Repeatedly press "RESET" and choose from the following: Fast flash - high brightness Fast flash - medium brightness Fast flash - low brightness Slow flash - high brightness Slow flash - medium brightness Slow flash - low brightness Solid light - high brightness Solid light - medium brightness Solid light - low brightness After desired REV function is selected, press "SEL" to finish
Great thanks for that, I thought I had read that set up somewhere but didn't realise you could set the rev's too! Il prob change it to around 10/11k. I got a Haynes manual yesterday so might save soo many questions haha
