Just been flicking through this supplement. Really great info on the routes / regions and linking them up. Would have made a few trips easier and saved me learning the hardway! Lol

Be really handy if your planning your first tour or a veteran looking for fresh ideas!

Will be keeping this one safe - defo recommend buying the mag for this.

Got chance to look at this last night, some interesting areas like vosges plus good info on getting to alps etc from each port in a sane manner.

Really good feature on planning routes online, import to satnav.

Plus you can download their routes for exact details so article not full of maps.

Brother in law just got back from France in a camper 6 quid for a coke each mrs and son said it was really expensive with tolls and the like not sure we're he was but would imagine Brittany and inland from there seems to say it was a bit backward ....Hole in the floor for bogs ect .

    Giv,

If he'd read the Ride guide to France he would have seen the part which says 'to save money buy sandwiches and drinks at a supermarket and have a picnic' - surely the camper had a fridge?

I agree it feels expensive, worse as the pound dropped from 1.25 this time last year to 1.10

There are still some squat toilets but not many left to be honest

Also tolls can be avoided with some planning and a good road atlas but know sometimes they serve a purpose - guess they charge loads more for a campervan than a bike too

This is the link to the routes / maps in the magazine - they have put a lot of effort into this to be fair, I'm impressed its all free and some belting routes too.

Your right Al .I have a mate who has done France with a camper and I give the Brother in law his number but apparently he did not phone for advice .The camper has a fridge as they have just done two weeks at the TT I can't say why he ended up paying through the nose as he is a farmer and not known for splashing any cash around and if anything he is completely opposite he also said they found a lovely beach area but it stunk of sewerage and pipework was visible out to sea I think it has put them off but I will suggest the Mag and even pick it up myself .Ta!
