Any 'Bladers from God's Own Country planning on doing the Ride Of Honour to Catterick Garrison this year? Ride of Honour 2012 Should be a good turnout and for a good cause. Me and the Doris are going to register from the Squires start-point.
I also live in Gods own country,Morris and I will be attending...Squires.Ill see if i can get a few others on board...
Details of the day are now up on the RoH site: 2012 Ride Details – Squires to Catterick Early start so I think the meet-up will consist of getting there and getting some bacon butties and cups of builders' tea!
rant coming on!! i dint keep my email confimation when i paid and i cant get my paypal transations to work and besides i av no printer these are the only 2 methods of reciept they will accept at regisrtation. i wrote them 4 emails before they finally replied saying i have 2 minibank statements and a monthly statement showing paypal £15 yorkshire bikers and they wont budge. well i will be writing them another email on my return from holiday saying i will be still attending and will take it from there.why is there no trust in the world? why the hell would i have a paypal reciept on a minibank statement for yorkshire bikers if i hadnt paid.... and relax!!!!!
Blimey, that's a bit of a shoddy attitude by them. I agree though - I'd definitely be turning up and arguing the toss on Sat morning. Let me know if you need any backup on the day. I'll happily join an argument about it!
had an email off ride for heroes again citing only email confimation(printed off) or paypal reciept(printed off) will be accepted. Then the knobs send me an email regarding what will take place on the day, what to do,how to ride ETC. SO THEY DO AV A RECORD OF MY REGISTRATION!!! I have managed to forward this email to the wifes works where she printed it off so game on tomorrow! Will let u know how i go on......
well after all the fuss i had nothing to worry about the girl at registration was really helpful and they had all our names so no problems... quite a crowd considering the weather! really started to rain as we were about to set off, quite a sight even for a old cynic like me.
got to catterick...... love this 1 of the dog was gonna go into the barracks but the sun started to come out so went for a spin round nth yorks instead
I really wanted to do this but instead i spent the day stuck at work as my boss wouldnt let me have the day off. but tbh i dont think i would have made the trip considering the weather. looks like a great day then
Ha! I'm right in the front of your 3rd pic (stood with back to camera, just about to get on the bike). Where did you set off from? I saw a Repsol RR5 a few rows in front of me but didn't see the rider until we were on the move (YT05, I think the reg was? was that you?) There was a bit of rain just before the ride but didn't think that was too bad. Then the sun came out just as we saddled up ready for the off and was great biking weather from that point on, so made for an enjoyable rideout. Nice to be seen off with a 21 gun salute too! (which you can hear on the video) I thought it was a good turnout too - 450-500 at Squires and another 300-350 from the NE making up the 800 bikes on the ride. Looked good when we came off the A1 at Catterick and went over the bridge to see the hoards of bikes snaking back onto the A1 in the distance. I'll post a few pics up although I had forgotten to bring my DSLR and only had the iPhone camera.
yeah weather got better so decided to give the barracks a miss n went for a wazz round nth yorks, on the vid im at 5.45 the left 1 of the 2 repsols.
