Managed to ger out today for abit of a rideout, lovely weather most of the day, but the day didnt finish on a happy note, but more of that to come later. Had bit of a lay in as i had a day off flexi today So did me chores, put on the washing machine and hung out the washing Around 11:00 decided it was time to get kitted up and get going as the sun was out and the roads were drying up nicely albeit the odd damp patch here and there. Time to wakeup me girl from her sleep
Headed through town where it started to spit with rain, ggrrrr i started to curse the weather gods, until it stopped after 5mins ( i can live with that bearing in mind its Nov and im out riding without heated clothing or the like ) headed upto Stafford where the roads werent all completely dry, but sun was shining and it felt good, hearing me girl singing along as we got moving making progress. i was to meet a mate of mine, Es whose Spanish but has lived here for a while and has an R6 in black. But as usual she was late (bugger )
Now her R6 has been playing up of late, with the battery failing to hold charge, the rectifier not workinf, lights working then switching off and then switching on all by themselves, so im surprised she made it all. On speaking she said yeah yeah its all fine, shes charged the battery and all is good, however best laid plans an all...... And she turned up in vented leathers with a t shirt over the top, crazy spaniard!! its the only biking kit shes got ..doh
Anyway, stop for a quick chin wag and she checks out me new bike, not before doing her hair up mind, women!! Another Fireblade convert??
Then off to Uttoxeter and then onto Ashbourne via the A518 and A515.. A518 is pretty decent albeit short ish road to Uttoxeter and the A515 is boring in places, but with the amount of gravel and farm mucj on these roads,we decided best to leave the fast twisty stuff for next spring / summer as they will be worse. Stopped at Ashbourne for a well deserved drink and the sun was lovely and warm ish,. so sat outside a cafe with a hot chocolate and coffee. Lovely little place Ashbourne, with a lovely quaint town centre, theres even few antique shops with old BSA n Ariels in the shop window
From Ashbourne its down the back road to Matlock bath via Carsington water, great weather with hardly a cloud in the sky and carsington water looked amazing witht the sunlight dancing on the water, no time for pics though as was starving and wanted to ger there and back home in decent time ( if only ) Few bikes in matlock today, nice to see people out in this weather, esp in Nov!! wots the spanish for "I love my R6 " Es tryingto keep her hands warm on the r6 rad coolant pipes
Great right up dude nice to see you out and about ." The Settle Fox " has got his " Learn Spanish in a week book " out at the moment so beware Lol.
1 more pic, lovely blue sky After this pic was taken my digi cam of 10 yrs gave up and called it a day on its photographic life and stopped working and is dead RIP digi cam ( digi cam shopping come the w.end woop woop ) Same ish route back home albeit gerring stuck few times behind the quarry wagons and about 5 milesout of Stafford Es R6 calls it a day and coasts to a halt, battery not holding charge or owt, RAC called and were there in 30 minutes,by this time it was goin onto 4pm and started to ger cold, good job i packed me woolly hat n gloves under me seat cowl 20 mins into RAC bloke mesing about, i decided to ride home, felt abit of a c**t to leave her but she was just a short taxi ride home, and i still had to fight through the rush hour traffic in stafford and ger home before its dark and the rain comes. Luckily made good progress with sum extreme filtering, amazing how narrow the Fireblade is and made it home as the temp dropped like a brick. Text off Es she was home about an hour after me, as she got back on the tow truck in the end. All in all not a bad day, good to be out riding in the sun, few damp patches but we can live with that, no salt or grit out as yet ( thank fook ) Thanks for reading
I'm jealous, was at work thinking it wouldn't be too bad to go for a blast, still luvin that exhaust on your blade,I need one on mine.
Yeah them Racefit Black editions dont half look lurvely and u shud feel how light they r compared to oe exhaust, crazy and the noise, WOW!! everywhere u go heads turn, Es has an Akro on her R6 and she said she could hear me up ahead over her own race can which is feet away from her ears!! Crazy!!
