HI i have got some new heavyweight bar ends on order, the problem i have is that the r-hand bar end wont come of, it is a fancy glorified washer with a philips head on the end, the problem is that the bloody screw just goes round and round,it appears the internals are turning inside of the clip on, i dont care about buggering up the end, i just want the dam thing out, so i can replace, cheers rolls
I had a similar issue with mine I tried 3 things but can't remember which one worked 1- push end in while unscrewing 2- pull end out 3- push downwards on the end and unscrew ( forcing the screw head down ) hope that makes sense
If none of the above works roll back the grip and you should see a hole in the bar. Shove a screwdriver in the hole and keep it pressed in there whilst you try and unscrew the bar end.
i think it is all bloody going round inside the bar,(i can feel it)i have loosened the twistgrip but it doesnt pull out far enough, so looks like i will have to undo the throttle cables so i can detach the grip, what a bloody carry on. i (dremelled) off the washer/bar end and now have only a screw, going into the bar. will attack it tomorrow.
well brute force and ignorance won the day, i ripped it out with mole grips, as i dint want to piss about taking the throttle cables apart, if no one has taken out the complete crap before,( i dont know why they have a system like a rawlbolt) it is a long bar with a serated rubber (cog like) washers at both ends, with a metal spring, clip bar end side with two metal spikes, i imagine that is what holds it all in place, (they are now flat) lol, just waiting for snail mail to deliver two heavy duty bar ends.
Mine just spin round & round. Are they meant to? As i have RR bar ends and one always ends up facing down
