The bike's going in for some fresh Renthal Sprokets & tsubakimoto chain on Thursday - I've been looking at the Rizoma chain guard as a bit of extra bling and as a replacement for the factory plastic one - has any one got one? Got any reviews of it ETC? It's a lot of dosh for what looks very little! But I guess that's what you expect for Italian parts! Cheapest I found it was for £117 - any one know where else I might be able to get it a bit cheaper? Cheers everyone! Kev
Hi Kev .Although i can't comment on the Rizoma chain Guard .I am thinking on the same lines .I have just had a Renthal rear Sprocket and a gold Regina chain (which is the Renthal gold) i was considering a Powerbronze guard because the quality is very good .Plz let us know how you go on.Mike.
If someone can measure the angle and width of the swingarm brace that it bolts to and gimme the thread size, I'll mock it in ally and post pix. When you guys are happy with it , I'll make copies in mirror or brushed stainless. The mounting bracket will be different though, probably one piece of stainless folded to mount onto swingarm brace? Sync if we can meet up sometime soon , I can take angle measurements from your bike with my angle gadget?
Yeah i defiantly want 1 .. I will measure the hole and thread etc but what is the best way to measure the angle ?
I was hoping to meet up with Sync and measure his! Only way to measure angle is with a proper angle measurer or a piece of paper held against brace and a spirit level. Once level is horizontal, draw a line on paper. Don't worry , I'll sort it. Just wanna say, the guard will be a piece of polished stainless, cut to shape and the bracket bolted to swingarm brace will be either stainless or alloy box section . Two stainless pieces will be welded to each other and weld polished. Alloy piece will be bolted. Don't expect em to look as nice as Rizoma items, but they will look nice and if you don't like em, you won't pay for em. No idea on price yet, depends on material costs and how long it takes to make em. Please be patient as I am a very slow fabriacator.
Awesome .. Take your time mate and make us a cracker . We can say we have truly custom parts fitted then lol.. Keep me posted and ill paypal you when all is done
Sorry fella - I didn't buy one in the end - I've spent too much money recently - [after my car broke down in France - and is still there!] - I prob will get one in a couple of months - cheers - Kev.
