    Or "Vehicle Excise Duty" as they like to refer to it...

    According to the bike press, the current paper disc becomes history in October this year..

    But

    Road tax won't be transferable to the new owner should you sell a vehicle that is currently "taxed"
    The new registered keeper will have to apply for road tax from the date of purchase, the old owner can then apply for a refund of any outstanding funds left at time of sale.

    So the excise duty becomes like insurance, it's applicable to the registered keeper not the vehicle...

    just reading yesterday about the non transferring of tax to another owner. what I don't understand if if you have to get the car on x date will the online tax renewal be ok to drive it home and start on the same day
