Route 66

    Thinking of doing Route 66 next year on a "Hardly Dangerous" has anyone on here done it? if so could you share your experience? who you booked with how good was it etc etc thanks. ;)

    Not done it but been told its overrated as most of the stuff from the time it was legendary has since gone and its very straight. You could do similar routes, taking in more sights.

    I'd definitely have a go, but Andy is right, a lot of it has been bypassed and built over now. As long as you don't want to be pedantic over the the route you should be able follow it fairly closely though. Not sure my back would be up to American 'secondary roads' though.

    Might be worth getting a copy of Billy Connellys DVD I am sure he he did it on a trike if not it might be Robbie Coltrane .

    I thought there whole sections that were changed and missing, basically where the road no longer exists due to infrastructure upgrades and building works.

    Or you could do the European or Scotland run with the forum.

    I want to do flagstaff to LA. I'm off to San Fran, Vegas and LA in May and I'm looking at who to book through.
