Hello folks hope you are all well. My bike recently decided to burn it's own stator and reg rec, which I had replaced. I then noticed the other day that there was pop and an oil leak apparently from the valve cover gasket......this is fairly common apparently. I believe the stator flywheel is to blame for this, caused by an electrical arc between the stator and flywheel, causing ignition of gases and blowing the gasket.... Question...the 2006 and 2007 bikes have a flywheel with a different part number of: 31110-MEL-D21. My 04 bikes current part number is: 31100MEL315 Is the 06-07 bikes flywheel compatible with my 04, I gather it was slightly larger to prevent the arcing? Thanks!
