Hi, Looking at purchasing a US30 (or 20) Drypack as going up Northumberland for 5 days begining of Sept Are they easy to attach to frame under rear seat - had a quick look ant can't easily see frame to attach it to. Any advice/tips welcome. Cheers
I had a quick look under the seat but came to the same conclusion you did that there's nowhere obvious to loop the straps. You could loop them under the seat or even mount them to the bolt holes under the seat. The only problem with that is you're at the mercy of the seat latch. Or this....
I’ve seen seats bend and snap in half when used like that top photo mate, sub frame or at the very least the other bolts you’ve highlighted.
I'd thought about the bolts in the 2nd pic but wasn't convinced it would be good enough I've took the back off and can see the sub-frame - just. Going to buy the US20 and see if I can get it round the sub-frame; worse case is to use the ones you suggest in the pic......
I'm in Newcastle so my back yard, hope the weather is good for you, enjoy the countryside and coastline. Regards, Davey.
I've got a seat with the straps screwed in. On my M1000R there were holes already so pop riveted them in. Agree 20l is big enough on the bike - I ride with a 25l Kriega backpack (with dry liner) too and is more than enough for a week.
