Hi i recently got a rr5 blade and want to put it on the track, iam after PC, ign module QS, also iam not sure if they have a slipper clutch as standard or not. also a race spec shock, not fussed if it ohlins also if any one has ported or had camwork done, what is the best direction. any hlep or pointers would be great cheers steve
to be fair iamnot looking to spend a pile on it. its a bit of a shoe string budget. whats a standard eng gna put out at the wheel ?
I think Firebloke is the guy to speak to as he's done a fair bit on his track RR7 (I think). He's getting his head done at the moment (and the bikes )
HM now make a cheaper quickshifter. Cheaper than Dynojet one and cuts ignition not fuel which is always the better option. HM Quickshifter – *NEW* HM Super Lite – Honda
well if your on a shoestring budget,i doubt it will leave room for proper headwork, spend the money on some decent suspension,a pc3/5 and proper map.all depends how much you got to spend, but power gais can be head purely by skimming the block, sloting the standard cams and advancing the timing a bit, thinner head gasket.but even that's going to cost 500+ depending how much work you can do yourself.
It'll defo only be the Bikes! Tech Support and updates expired years ago for his Head, bit like Windows 3.1
Our rr4 (same as rr5) has full Akro, pc3 and was dyno'd @ 161bhp . There is a guy from the states selling new ohlins shock for about £600 , we've bought a maxton shock because they are re springing the forks for us and are helping set the bike up for £1150. There is no slipper clutch on rr4-rr7 just from rr8 onwards. Think Steve's ( firebloke ) is an rr4 and is having head ported and cams re- profiled and is hoping for a 15-20bhp gain.you'd need to ask him for the cost but I'm sure it's a bit more than £500 ?!
do you have any data on cam on adjusting standard cam timing whats the standard forks like ?? are they ok for trackday use once the soring rate is sorted shocks prob the most improtant thing to change from standard
