    Evening all

Been away for a bit, otherwise known as trying a 600RR, moving house and changing jobs, but with the trusted company bike gone and having to now spend my hard earned cash with the sun starting to show its sorry arse, I'm faced with which one..

    RR6 silver 16k miles £4900
    RR9 HRC with 9,000 miles £5895

Insurance is a touch more on the newer bike, both from Honda dealers

    Is the RR9 worth £20-£30 a month more ?

In a nutshell, yes it is worth £900 more. better bike all round except for the issues of removing the fairing.

Had both and they are surprisingly different. Take 9 bud if you can afford it althought you won't be disappointed with the 6 if you never had an 8 onwards.

As nice as the 6 is, I would go for the 9, ok looks are an acquired taste, but its a better bike than the earlier model, and if you cant get one in Repsol colours the HRC is a good alternative :)

I went from a RR7 to an RR9 and the difference is huge and the newer shape feels lighter and more like a 600 whereas the old shape is much more top heavy.

    Go for the RR9 ;)

I prefer underseat exhausts and the look of the RR6/7, but would go for the RR9 as lower mileage and less oil burn risk. Also has the RR6 had it's valve clearance check done as that is due at 16K?

I would say the 6 on looks alone, never ridden a 08 plus (never interested me)

Good point Martin makes about riding or not.

If the dealers will let you, ride both, I would be amazed if you choose the 6 over the 9, the 9 is like putty in your hands and will soak up anything you throw at it, it handles better, the motor is stronger, with more mid range just where you want it.
The CoG feels about 3 foot lower than a 6, and this is what makes it such a pleasure to ride at any speed, whereas in comparison, the 6 feels tall, the 9 feels very small.

Having not ridden the 06 but had a 899 (92) and a 929 (00) no comparison I know but I have the 09 HRC and it's up there with the best I've owned and have never had the urge to trade it in. As mentioned the fairing removal is a pain in the but you get the hang of it after a bit. I have the ABS which has been no trouble but would suggest avoiding these anyway mainly due to problems it may present in future and the servicing cost.

    Get the 09!!

09 without a doubt, should have bought yorkshire Tykes, was a nice 10 for a bit cheaper.... anyway, the 09 is such a great bike overall, a better ride than the 06, also less miles and will have a higher trade in price in a few years when you want to upgrade again

Super stock blades ran 128mph in 2007 on the TT corse, I'm not sure it did evolve a huge amount.. ;)

Just kidding, get what ever floats your boat, the later bike does feel like a 600 with 1000cc power, however I prefer my 07 :)

And you can pick up an 08 dirt cheap, cheaper than a RR7 ;) thanks to Hondas 0% finance deal some of my mates can't give them away!

Good feedback, I didn't think about top end weight and balance. I had a 12ym blade last year before I swapped for the 600RR, so may feel a backward step on a RR6 with a higher centre of gravity and I have a thing about flashers up in the mirrors.

Gonna try get over the Hunts this weekend

    Thanks all
