Hi all, looking to upgrade my fork or its internals, and a bit lost amongst the options!

Looking at aftermarket springs... no idea what spring rate I need, or whether 'standard' or progressive. (I'm 100kg in kit, do a couple of trackdays a year.)
Anyone know what the standard spring's spring rate is?

Should I be looking to get them re-valved too?

Does anyone have any advice or experience of doing this they can offer me? Or even just explain the options in terms a noob can understand?!?

Got my RR7 forks serviced by FTR suspension (was in Braintree but now in Ely). Don't think forks had ever been looked at and bikes got 45k miles on it. Whilst they had it apart got them to fit a set of K-Tech springs - cost an extra £85 but thought why not (and were rated to my weight). I took the forks off and refitted, pretty straight forward. Think the whole cost was about £290 with return postage. Felt great when ridden, big improvement and worth it. Just need to get shock serviced now then will take bike back and have setup properly.

Thought FTR were really knowledgeable and good service - they would advise if anything extra was recommended to suit your riding style/needs

Give Colin at 100% suspension a ring he can talk you though what you actually need and not sell you what you think you need.

Thanks Lock... don't suppose you recall the spring rate of the K-Tech springs you had fitted?

Thanks Cookster, I may do that.

If it serves anyone any use in the future, I've managed to determine that the stock forks have a spring rate of 8.8N/mm (although some quote 8.5N/mm)
Given I weigh 110kg fully kitted, I've been advised to go to 9.5N/mm.
