OK, I'm not entirely happy my front brake feel. I'm after a firmer feel and less travel at the lever (already an adjustable aftermarket lever, braided hoses not fitted yet - probably get round to it soon). Any views on these two options? (preferably from personal experience) 1. EVO III lever with adjustable braking power (£150) Speedycom Performance Ltd... 2. Brembo RCS adjustable ratio master cylinder (£320) Brembo RCS Master Cylinder | Brake Master Cylinders | Brakes | Motorcycle Shop | Demon Tweeks
That Evo lever looks awesome. Have not used either of the lever listed though. Might be worth changing lines before hand though to see if that improves feel as I'm told these make a significant difference to lines that are a couple of years old?
Ohhh, Evo III looks nice and v good value. I had HEL lines on my old bike (before it was stolen!) and they do add a bit more feel - i wouldn't bother with the rear though..
Yeah I always do braided lines and they make a bit of a difference, not sure it will be what I'm after though. Brembo MC seems overkill, so I might compromise and do braided lines and the EVO III lever.
I would also change the pads as well as the brake lines, you will be surprised at the difference it makes
When was the brake fluid last changed? This makes a massive difference to the feel. When doing track days I change the brake fluid each time, otherwise the lever becomes spongy!! Try some race brake fluid first.
About 4 weeks ago! Calipers cleaned at the same time too. I actually think it's just the nature of the brakes and probably down to the master cylinder. Actually when I think about it, I'm most bothered about the amount of travel at the lever before brake pressure actually starts. It's only a few mm, but enough to be annoying - I like my lever span set wide open and for braking to start as soon as I touch the lever. Any opinion on that? P.S. It's not my lever as it was the same if not worse with the OE lever.
my blade is brand new and fitted HEL lines straight away the OE master cylinder is utter rubbish im fitting a brembo i was even thinking about trying an R1/R6 OE brembo as the brakes on my 09 R6 race bike were excellent. the worst thing about the blade is the front MC. closely followed byt the 4-6k rpm flat spot....
Well it seems my discs were even more warped than I thought - fitted new ones and am almost happy with performance now - still got my eye on that Brembo RCS though.
