I have been looking though the forum with no luck my RR9 has just started to rattle you can hear it at idle to about 5k revs sounds like a loose timing chain it's not clutch as it don't make any difference if it's pulled or in gear etc do the suffer with any issues?? It's done 12k full dealer history it's still under warranty so not worried about cost

I had something similar on my 08 after 38,000 miles. We changed the cam chain tensioner but it didn't help. Various experts suggested that although they could hear the rattle, the engine was working fine and it wasn't going to blow up ! The only other solution was to have the engine out and stripped which would have cost a fortune. The bike was out of warranty so I sold it on Ebay and bought a 2012 bike ! My 08 bike drank a lot of oil from the get go and I personally think the engine just wore to the point that it was making funny noises. The new 2012 bike does not use any oil at all.
    Good luck !

My CCT only needed changing at around 65 - 70k - even after changing at that mileage the engine still rattled a bit, not much mind and the engine has almost zero wear at 80k

There was a recall on the clutches on the 08 bikes. Never had a problem with mine but Honda changed it anyway.
