So as most know I changed from the Blade to a Multistrada 1200S to commute to and from work (120 miles a day) but after 4000 happy fault free miles on the Ducati I have been offered a job 3 miles from my house so decided that I wanted a sportsbike again I had a chat with the guy I bought the Multi off and he offered me a fair deal and a choice of two bikes a 848 Evo and the S1, I have had a 1098S so think I would have just wanted more power from the 848 and having always liked inline 4s and the BMW decided to give it a go The bike was completely standard when I picked it up As normal I started off just wanting to fit a slip on and a tail tidy which I bought and nothing else ... FAILED AGAIN lol A good friend knew a mate who was selling a few bits off his bike at the end of his PCP so I bought a full Akrapovic Carbon Race system with Carbon hanger off him with a PCV with custom map, MRA screen and GB racing covers Then got some titanium disc bolts front and rear and caliper bolts from racebolts, some Bridgeport valves and Metzler K3 tyres ready for the summer, biketec exhaust cover, Pazzo copy levers and a BMW single seat cover HM sorted me a BMW loom and rod for my HM plus SS, so that's all fitted as well I can't honestly give a honest review of the bike yet as I have only done 60 miles on it but I can say I like it, riding position is good, brakes brilliant, power is immense from 7k onwards, with smooth introduction from the off Anyway once I get more time on the bike I will give an honest appraisal of the S1 against the blade, if it doesn't start a forum war Here she is now ... Can't wait for the spring
I will if the chance arises just need to scrub in the metzlers a bit before I can play with it properly
You make me laugh, it's like following a soap opera I'm actually interested in! Would have been interested in your multistrada. I'm assuming it's gone now?
It's up for £9500 at riders Bristol with decat and CJS remap with all r and g etc bargain considering what I paid
Very nice Jamie, only thing I would do to it is replace that horrid plastic around tank with area with carbon or have it painted. Its a change I like on the 2015 S1000RR thats all painted and on the white and blue looks integrated.
Thanks, I do agree on that point it does look and feel rather cheap, the genuine carbon is expensive so on the lookout for some second hand ones eventually
