Sounds familiar mate. I tend to get out to the garage as much as possible. Even if it is just to 'dust it off'.
I find it easier if I plan the next mod or maintenance job for it when I'm out there. That way I can give myself an excuse to get out there again next time.

    Yup it's sad :)

I thought I needed help but now I know I'm just normal?
I go in to the bike everyday. Some times I sit in the corner and have a smoke and a beer, and well, just sit looking, smiling to myself.
    :)

Mate... We all do it!! I have a chair that faces the bike! Next to my biker tidy, anyone who doesnt ride gets told its to put my boots on and sort leathers out...so I don't sound weird.

Everyone with a bike takes one look, has a knowing smile and says "oh, you sit and look at the bike too" many a nights I've finished up, radio on and supped a peroni on my own! Bliss

I'm lucky the garage door opens into the kitchen so I see it regular every day.

Did I mention the garage door stays open to keep the garage warm lol I have a stool opposite the bike to sit on when I'm working on it honest lol

I'm not lucky enough to have room for a seat in said shed "see where she lives by Bats" but I'm quite happy sitting on the floor glass of something strong in one hand and a cigarette in the other.
As said previously people that don't ride bikes won't understand?
The lads at work keep ripping the pi££ because it's still got the same milage on it as when I brought it out the show room in October.

Really don't mind being weird and having the pleasure of the bikes!! I still use mine at this time of year, but obviously not as much so the garage time and sneaky look at my girls goes up a lot over winter...

As the bike lives across the back of the garage, every night when I get home and open the door it's the first thing I see, so if it's been a bad day it just makes me smile and think 'I've got that'.

But it's always ready to ride, just unplug the Optimate and I'm gone.

You have no idea mate. Honestly it's about 1/4" thick in salt up here. The snow only melted on Tuesday and that was our second dousing of the white stuff already this year :(

I would ride a bike all year if I had a hack for the winter but there is no flecking way I'm letting that sh*t destroy my pride n joy.

I don't blame you guys that can't get away from the salt , but it gets washed away and there's some great riding on dry, empty roads for most of the winter. Ride yer feckin bikes FFS!!!

Kpone - I've seen how close you have to park to the blade - I bet you also think, "I hope I've not hit that!"

Totally agree with your sentiment - I pay a visit to mine each day, some times multiple times a day. I've had bikes for 12 years and have never been any different

I have to remember 'Dont drive angry' when I back in, but there's a piece of 3" x 4" rawlbolted to the floor that the near side rear wheel touches and leaves a Rizla's width between the front bumper and the garage door when it's shut, Mick.

I've got a plan to build a FireBlade specific bike shed, with comprssor, tool racks, insulation and heating so that I can launch even quicker from. A bit like Thunderbird 2.

You have to be prepared when your mother in law only lives 5 minutes away.

I have my race bike and the Blade in easy reach, the garage is attached to the utility room which has the booze fridge in it. I do like having a peek in when recharging my glass. I enjoy working on my bikes almost as much as riding them, you get to know them better when you spend time in the garage with them!

Your only weird if you light candles & lock the door while you're in there...
