I've been after a set of SATO street Hooks for a while now but begrudge spending Almost as much on Postage as the Item is worth. I have been in touch with a Local Engineering Firm to me and they are going to knock up a set for me as i have managed to get hold of a set that a lovely member on here will lend to copy from. I am going to try and get them as close to the SATO design as possible but these are probably trade marked and copyrighted so if they are they will have to be everso slightly different somehow. The guy making them wants me to gauge interest so that he knows if it's worth knocking a Batch out, they will probably only be available in plain Ally colour or sprayed Matt Black to match the Black sub frame but will still work out cheaper than getting them from the States If you only want the racing ones without the holes for the foot pegs i can ask him to just not Drill some of them I will start off the list by saying i want a set. Hopefully try and go for at least 10 names to start with. 1. Sam Bird 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
lol, Just found that out. I've just had a reply from the Engineering firm and my Jaw hit the Floor. I won't even tell you what the price is but put it this way, i could buy all 10 on the list a set direct from SATO and probably still have change for the cost to produce 1 of them!!! I've contacted a company on ebay that do ones more to the shape of the SATO ones to see if they do street hooks as they only advertise Race ones. I'll report back with the findings on his reply
I spoke to Intobikes about getting a set from them but the guy on phone was an arse and said 2 weeks for delivery. So I'm guessing they buy in from usa as well. Didn't take long for delivery from usa, I got the abs ones on my non abs bike
Right then, I've just spoken to my tame machinist D) who has confirmed he can probably sort out plain alloy versions of the Street Hooks for £45 delivered for the pair (£50 at a push depending on the cost of the alloy stock but probably £45 at present). Due to his work load (these will be done in his spare time) the turn around will be 2-3 weeks with some maybe getting out early. I'll still need 10 names and I don't have the option of the ABS version unless someone can loan an ABS set to measure up. Once I have a few names he can maybe set up and knock out a few pairs. His work is brilliant and he has done lots of work for my Streetfighter in the past as follows! As per the Carbon heel plate group buy, paypal fees will have to be covered or sent as gift. (What am I letting myself in for) oh yeah, and moon is banned from purchasing (only jesting ) If interested let me know by adding your name below. 1. Sam Bird 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
Can they be made to look more like these rather than the bulky solid block ones? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-CBR...g-Trackdays-/131593203380?hash=item1ea390eeb4
Why not just buy them? My mate already has the design for the genuine Sato street hooks and it wouldn't make any sense after seeing them at £39.99! Besides when he sets up the machine it will do multiples in one hit so extra shapes etc will just complicate things. He has said it will be £45 delivered and will do them for as few as 5 people not 10.
Yes non abs for me. I thought theu may be like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/321804236760 And I dont like this style, but if they are a direct copy of the SATO ones then im all over it
They've been copied off my genuine ones including the spacers so they sit square as the 2 sets of bolts are different lengths.
I bought Sato hooks when I bought my bike in 2011 great for strapping it down in a van so I will have to miss out on this one but I can pop in to post and keep everyone happy!
thank feck i have sato's on mine my sister sent over from the USA, means i don't need to watch this thread and read aw Moon's shite and gripe!!!!! hehe
Anyone know if street hooks can be fitted onto a motoholders subframe? If so I'll buy some of these...
I definitely wont be made to take foot pegs, but there are two bolt holes on the frame which look like they're the same distance as they would be for foot pegs, just wondering if people have attached street hooks here? I'll measure up tonight...
The distance between each bolt hole is 70mm on my subframe. I don't have any rear foot pegs to measure the distance between those bolt holes... does anyone else!?
I'll measure in the morning unless someone has them to hand. I could maybe get him to modify one set as he has to drill and tap them anyway.
