I have a fixed rate bond coming out in the next few weeks. not a huge amount it and I don't need the money (no you can't have it) So have been looking at where is best to invest it.

Looking at 2-3 years. it's added 50% over the past 10 years that I started this.

just wondering if anyone know's of any good deals. With the current climate it's great if you want to borrow money but crap if you want to save.

Most I have found are 2-2.5%AER

I would rather put it somewhere via post, bank or over the phone. in other words not just Internet banking.

Any tips from more enlightened people

If you haven't maxed out your ISA whack some in there to protect it from the Taxman. Alternatively I have some magic beans for sale ;)

ISA a good idea as I've not done mine this year. As for Spend it completely agree but nice to have some you don't need just in case. Also not having to own anything to anyone is nice. I have no mortgage, own car's out right etc.. is a nice place to be at only 36.

Never liked borrowing and always put any spare cash on paying for the house. seems so many people I know are in the poo as they borrowed as much as they could and payed as little as they could back.

back on topic, Pillowcase will give me almost as return as the fecking banks

I've made twice the return on the last two months from my premium bonds than I would have in interest from the bank for the last year.

Buy another house while the market is still at its bottom end. Rent it out till the market recovers (which it already has started to do) then sell for profit.

Life unloved nick! Not at all just working hard.

I feel some tax free place to invest may be best. Was just hoping for a better return but seems there is no where that will give this
