Hi Everyone, I just joined the group and would like to say hello, I own a 2009 track CBR1000RR and a 2011CBR RR for the road, in Brasil we can ride for so many days it makes sense to have two bikes, any way a big hello and hopefully I can get the hang of this quick enough Navigating. HM Dash Issue- I have just fitted my new dash to the track bike and was going well until i configured the gear change, I went through the process as described by HM and after selecting the sixth gear bringing up the revs to 3000 each time, on pit stands, I accepted it command and then the screen went blank and has never returned, the LEDs at the top of the screen are all illuminated just no graphics whats so ever. Im about to open the back up, I have been in contact with HM and the dash people are on holidays, so I will be going it alone, another thing has anyone experienced the buttons very hard to manipulate, I had to remove the rubber boots to ensure I wasnt damaging the toggles it was taking that much to scroll through the panel settings. If anyone can assist or has seen anything similar I would appreciate any advice, im in Brasil and have to wing it. Cheers and hope to be a regular contributor to the group While I have the chance my Avitar was when I returned from the Argentine GP guess who was sitting next to me, he was an absolute gent, I would love to drone on but for not wanting to bore anyone MR Marques is an absolute Gents and great ambassador for the best Bikes around, he was really genuine, whats a day and what a story for the grandkids, like saying you sat next to Joey Dunlop on a train ride after he won the TT cheers Jimmy
Had the exact same thing on mine, turned out to be a bad earth. Yep my buttons were also extremely difficult to press, not an overly great product in my opinion, especially when you consider how good their quick shifters are.
Steve. Cheers for the reply, it went out like a light, will do some checking around the loom, the confusing bit is the stock panel works as per normal and all the lights above in Red are working, gonna play with it a bit more then see what they say on Monday, kind of goes against there claim of the best aftermarket service around or as they say - "We at HMQuickshifter are committed to complete customer satisfaction in all areas of our business, including technical support that is unrivalled. We are in regular contact with race teams and engineers around the world using our products and can offer setup and track support to help them achieve success."- uh okay
Hi Jimmy, HM are not on Holiday, not sure who told you that, or well the UK guys are still around as far as I know, or at least I placed an order Monday, BUT some of the UK team are out on the MotoGP testing so a busy time of year, take a look at HM on facebook for testing updates May explaine to you why they are missing in action. Where did you buy the dash, if a dealer are they not on hand to help you out? HM do offer great customer service or I like to think they do, it's a shame you don't think so. Remove the back plate as the connector is small and delicate, failing that it could well be a faulty unit, even NASA have stuff go wrong. Before removing the backplate you can power up the dash with a USB cable, you will not get any backlight but all other functions should work ok. Button wise they are stiff, but as you say that's the rubber covers, it's best to press the centre of the button with the tip of your finger, works fine for me this way if you try and press the whole button it is hard I agree, I am happy with mine and so are my customers who have HM dash from me. https://www.facebook.com/HMquickshifteruk
Arthur, Many thanks for the reply, its not that all are on Holliday I was told the panel expert was in Spain, in reality I am more disappointed as the unit worked fine for a few days and I loved it, and I am sure once I get it sorted it will be fine, it took me so long to get it to Brasil due to import regulations I threw the teddy out the pram. I have had the back off and as you say its delicate but theres not much more damage you can do with all the "potting" they put in its a fairly tight unit, I have changed out the battery on the bike as it was failing, checked all my earths, all seem ok, had the original back on and it working fine so the issue is with the panel. I fully agree with men in space these days anything can wrong, but I often think its easier to go the Space Station than deal with corrupt Brazilian Customs practices and agents, believe it or not its cheaper for me to put an order together and fly to the ZUK and hand carry it back 60-101% customs duty. I bought From a mate Steve at Reactive Parts and he will do what he can to help me through if HD cant sought it out remotely, I have a feelings its terminal, I cant even get it to work through the USB and have downloaded all the options, it wont even find the firmware. Not my day. Any way really glad to be part of this illustrious band of racers and road warriors, I don't see the point in considering another machine when a Fireblade will do the job. Thanks again Jimmy
Haha, I know what your saying Jimmy. It's Sod's law that yours of all would fail, not many do! Hope it works out and you get it sorted. In the mean time welcome along mate
Hi Jimmy, sorry to hear of your troubles. Yes, as Arthur said we have been on the IRTA tests but send me an email to [email protected] and I'll see what we can do remotely for you. I know Brazil is a right royal pita for their customs so hopefully we can avoid having to use them. Get an email to me and I'll get on it Monday for you!
Hi and welcome to the forum. Hope you get the dash fixed soon. Got any pics of your bikes? Failing that post us some hot Brazilian women
