I've just been on to the Honda website to check that they had cleared the recall notice for some work I had done earlier this year (they hadn't, by the way) and there is another recall notice, this time for "Engine stall/ecu software rewrite". Probably worth checking if you're an SC82 owner.
Sometimes I wonder if I’ve just purchased the worlds fastest and most expensive computer it’s all getting way to technical and full of features we don’t really need! Come on…. Throttle degree angle % bike pitch and yaw etc. but no fuel gauge!
Yeah, and missing the ones we do, like the ability to adjust sprocket and tyre sizes so the electronics don't get confused.
Yeah totally agree…. Ducati have that part nailed with a quick and easy function, scroll in the settings and go into recalibrate menu, follow the instructions and it’s done in 30secs or so. Simples! About time Honda got with it instead of giving us technical features that are absolutely useless in the real world.
Letter arrived today announcing the important safety recall. ECU programming Recall via OBD (onboard diagnostics) reading between the lines it’s part of the data management program of the PGMI-FI ECM having improper settings, possible increase in abnormal data processing time causing the PGM -FI ECM to reset itself. As a result the fuel injection and engine ignition may stop, or worse case the engine could stall once being ridden. I’m 1200 miles in and not one issue, anyone had any problems with stalling? Seems to also cover quite a few various other Honda models, 11 in total from 2020-2022
Had my letter yesterday, covered 3300 miles and I've had no problems on road or track. However I have noticed on steady throttle, 6th gear around 4000 - 5000 rpm, a bit of surging.
