Hi, 12 of us looking to come to Scotland 22-26th june, think its going to be cheaper doing travellodge, we aim to get to Carlisle on the 22nd, then the trouble starts finding somewhere on the 23rd as we want to head up the A82 not all the way up as we are going to BSB at Knockhill on the 24th, i cant seem to find anywhere that will take 12 males in twin rooms on the nite of the 23rd, we will be staying near as we can to the centre on Edinburgh on the 24th as we aim to have a few beers (princess street etc) have a lay in and then head back to the 1st travellodge that we stayed in on the 22nd.

So we need a larger B&B for the saturday 23rd on the A82 or around that area.

There are one or two hotels across from knock hill at a place called Kinross. I've not slept there but have eaten in the hotel.
I'd have a look round the route again. Some cracking roads round that way would be a shame to waste your time. What sort of miles are you wanting to cover in a day? Kinross would be a good place to finish on the 23rd your nice and local for the race track on the 24th.

we are leaving early on the 22nd i would say carlisle is 350 ish miles but we dont want to do motorways as such, take in bit of the dales then the lakes then nip to carlisle. I have read that the A82 is the road to do up to fort william dont think we will make it as high as fort william?? but we want to be say an hour away from knockhill on the 23rd. All the b&bs i have emailed cant take 12 males in twin rooms. As for miles on the saturday i would say we would be doing 200/275 miles heading from carlisle upwards.

I agree the road up to fort William is mint, but like you say not time on your side. Your looking at coming up the A1 then across into North yorkshire? Then the lakes.
Maybe have to looking at booking a couple of hotels in one area,it's a ball ache trying to get a group booking unless your going for big hotels at top dollar.
ColinBR may have some ideas? Is it just mint roads your after with your stop for BSB then back? There are plenty of them getting as far as FortWilliam is a little ambitious I reckon.
Leave it with me, a route that is. Not the accommodation ;)

you might want to check out some premier inns or travelodges in the falkirk or larbert area, probably cheaper and only 20 to 25 mins to knockhill.
