Hi all Really angry with myself. Putting the blade away in the shed tonight and managed to scrape the tail fairing on the edge of the door. Its a matt black 2018 model. Any idea if this can be touched up / rubbed out or is it a replacement part? If so, any ideas where I can get one? A
I would suggest trying a mobile bodyshp/ car repair place once we come out of lock down otherwise a replacement part will be quite expensive I did the same just under my seat cowl a guy came round £40 later gone...
Nightmare.... Some part numbers on fowler's: https://www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/5848963/cbr1000rr-fireblade/rear-cowl Not sure will repair looks like a plastic effect rather than painted...
Thanks everyone. That Fowlers link says its £190 for the part! Youre right it is a plastic bit so not sure how well a repair would look. I'll look into the idea of a carbon protector. Anyone know where to look?
I dropped mine on the drive when I first got it. After the initial embarrassment and a few cross words I ended up needing a new alternator cover (£130ish) and bit of buffing at the end of the clutch lever. Was canny lucky really, felt like such a twat at the time though
@stelwalker Think most of us have been there at some point. I always feel most' twat like' when my gloves catch the throttle and rev the tits off it when I've pulled up somewhere As for plastic repairs they can be truly excellent these days so I wouldn't write it off just yet.
I very much loathed myself on my S1000RR when I got it out the garage, jumped off it and walked off looking back just in time to notice that I hadn't put the stand down.....crunch
Don't know what would have been worse noticing the stand or watching it go over must have been extra slow mo...

Thanks for the R&G suggestion. They do tail protectors which would do the trick. Anyone added them? Do they look OK. the photos on the website only show the tail so dont nget a good view of the bike as a whole.
