Hi guys I have a light scratch on the plastic lens face of my speedo and it pisses me off loads don't know if it was done by some twat or this old twat but don't remember doing it,...Question I can get some thing to rub it out or can I get a replacement lens?....has anyone here ever changed one before as it doesn't look easy. I need to resolve this or Other wise I shall NOT look at my speedo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers guys
There was an “old wives trick” using toothpaste to remove scratches from watch face glass. That might work but not sure if you use with a damp cloth too
Headlight repair kits should do it, pretty much a wet sand and cutting compound. fetches the hazing and scratches out of plastic headlight lenses so should work on a Speedo face. If its light enough just try cutting compound on it first if you've got any
Will be interested to see if any of the suggestions work I have the same problem on my clear plastic.
I have used this stuff on scratched screens with good results .... https://www.quixx.com/en/products/repair-products/acrylic-scratch-remover/product-information/
Damn @Ian63 . Now I'm wondering if this Quixx product is actually Colgate repackaged! Good posting though, @cronester, because it might be worthwhile testing on fairing screens. The associated video is worth a look too: https://www.quixx.com/en/products/repair-products/acrylic-scratch-remover/videos/ Available on ebay for 8.50: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/QUIXX-Xe...425483&hash=item1a238b87cd:g:h3gAAOSwKQ9aCpJ6
