6 years ago I got knocked off and broke collar bone and fibula and was told 3 months before I should ride again! Haha 5 weeks later :D

I would see how you feel after a couple of weeks

Ps I hope your nurses are as cute as mine today

Yeah hopefully, was hoping to get it sorted back in February . For several reasons it was delayed & delayed. Now it's got sorted at the height of summer, not good. Gotta think there's people worse off than me. Missing the bike already & it's 20 degrees and sunny today. Enjoy yours peeps

    Steve

My emergency hernia op last feb, it had travelled right down into my plums. told to stay off work for 4 weeks and not drive or ride bike for 4-6 weeks. I was back in work next day, and on the bike a week later... You'll be grand mate. Get some hard drugs from the docs and happy, happy times.

Jesus mine is just like that, they didn't do key hole as they reckon the success rate is not as good as opening you up proper. I've got massive staples in. Mines on the left growing. Swelling is ginormous . Still can't hardly walk without severe pain

Wait till your plums swell the size of footballs... and go black. They will. I was supposed to have keyhole, it was only when i woke up and the surgeon said that it was too big and complicated... its like an axe wound. All sorted now though, and pain free, plus i don't wear me trusset. LOL.

. That's some gash you have there Si:D
It may be that you go and have a check up as it looks like they may have left a rolled up towel just above the belt line:eek::p

Hi Steve looks like you will be fine ...plenty of " season" left ( unless you live in Scotland ) ;)just do what the docs order and if you are struggling I will have the bike collected as it does them no good standing for more than three weeks .;)

Years back had the snip in late August. Asked how long before I could ride my bike, 'at least a month, why?' she asked. Because I am off to Assen in a few weeks 'impossible' she replied. WRONG - Hopefully you will be back out sooner rather than later.

Sorry to hear that fella. Hoping you have a full and speedy recovery.

Positive thoughts can heal recovery so so yourself a goal to be back out on the bike asap. Besides still plenty of nice biking days in September. I'm sure we're all praying for a loooooong summer this year.... :)

GWS mate - sure you will....

my appendix went pop couple years back, 5hr op on Thursday to cut it out as went pretty nasty... out of hospital on Tuesday, by Thursday said to Lisa I was going out on the bike Sunday, she said I was an idiot so on Saturday I put the fence up that had blown down in the week!

she didn't argue about the Sunday ride... lol

I swear that picture just winked at me...

Don't worry Steve. As the lads say, you'll know when you feel ready to climb back on, and I doubt it'll be the end of September.
