Considering having the small plastic hugger (as fitted to 09 Blade) sprayed Repsol Orange, I have contacted 3 specialist bike spraying companies and been quoted £100/£120, does that seem expensive ?
I appreciate that if I want it done ive got to pay the price but £100+ seems a lot.

Am guessing the prep of it is the main cost! Due to its finish I'm guessing it needs a fair bit of priming before it's painted!

i was looking at r.s bike paints for some repsol touch up paint for mine. it needs 3 stages and types of paint to get the original finish .Just for the 3 touch up paints it is £24.00 . Add to this that whoever paints it will probably have to get at least 250 ml made up as a minimum amount from the paint supplier ,and the hugger will have to be sanded down ,painted in primer ,key sanded before the orange is painted then lacquered.
You could always try paint it yourself depending on how good a finish you want.

On my old rr8 I had the seat side panels, the belly and hugger done in the winning red and iirc it was just over £200. As said above, it's the prep and priming and getting the paint mix right.

Not sure it's worth it at £100+. Better ways to spend the cash imo but it will look good if youve got it.

Thing is with paint is they have to mixup so much as a min and use so many tools etc no mater how big or small the job so most places will have a min price.

Bit like tattoos you get a min price of like 40 quid weather it's the size of a 10p or 6inchs

Alrighty, so I had an SP cowl I wanted respraying. Took it to a number of coachworks/paintshops and they quoted 80-120 quid, so the price you have been quoted is in the correct ballpark.

However, I spoke to another coachworks whose painter was a bike fanatic himself who bought materials and painted the thing for 40 quid cash.
