Well after 2 hours of faffing around trying to get the SES rearsets fitted to my blade I can hold my hands up and say they won't fit. I'll give them a call tomorrow to let them know.

Gutted as I really fancied these on the bike, but you win some you lose some.

Is the problem specific to the ABS model Colin as I have them on my non-abs model and they fitted fine mate.

SES customer service is second to none in my experience so I would have thought you would be well looked after.

It's only a problem on the ABS model. Basically at the rear brake side because of the pipes coming down from the ABS unit under the seat. These pipes are metal tubes and there isn't any give in them. With the SES rearsets the footpeg and heal guard, which has the mount for the master cylinder has to move together when you want to change positions, no give due to the solid pipework. On others the heal guard with the mount for master cylinder is attached to the rear of the adjuster block therefore that design works because It doesn't have to move when changing positions.

    Long winded I know :)

I understand but cannot think of a solution unfortunately, its sounds like you will have to have them in a fixed position or change them / refund etc.

The Gilles FX ones are nice and well priced if you are thinking of changing and I don't think you will have the same problem as if I remember rightly just the peg moves.

Thanks. I'll have a look at those just now.

I'm going to phone them tomorrow anyway. I'm in no way blaming them for this as it's not as though they can have every model to design their parts around. That and the guys were more than helpful on the phone.

Could you not replace the metal pipe with an aftermarket brake hose ?

It's not just 1 pipe to be honest there's more than a few. That and I don't fancy chopping up bits for the abs system. I don't think that would be a great idea, could be costly :)
