Can anyone recommend a suspension company who can setup 2012 big piston forks off a 2012 Fireblade within a 100 mile radius of Birmingham? I fitted a pair of BPF to my 2011 blade over the weekend. They seem to be working quite well on stock settings but I'm sure there is room for further improvement. Thanks - Steve
Try popping along to local Focused Events or No Limits track day as they usually have special deals by speciasits in that field......recent Donnington day had £65.00 deal to customise and adjust to suit....... obviously helps if you can give feedback to get adjustments made throughout day (but no one needs to know if you take it for a local spin down the road)....
Support Services These boys set up my mates bike....... but ride into the middle of Mallory Park and you wont get out till dinner time !! http://www.focusedevents.com/suspension.asp These are usually at most of their days......
Thanks Rob that's a good idea. I went over to Rockingham twice last year and I know there was a tyre guy there and now you mention it I think a suspension guy. I set my old forks up without too many problems but these BPF are weird. BTW where in Worcs are you? Are you a regular on the A44?
£65? thats a lot. phil crowe, parkitt racing an colin@100% suspension do most of the track days and all know thier stuff.£45 for set up,and will work with you throughout the day to get the best settings that suit you.even if your not riding on track, pop down and they will set it up for you.
it's not an offer, thats what it is. NL use parkitt racing FE use Phil crowe+100% not sure about easytrack, and MSV days dont tend to have much service wise.
Parkitt racing were at mallory he came and had a look at mine and a chat he told me to have a go see how it felt mine felt planted but it was snowing at Anglesey it felt fine I won't touch it unless I need to I think
I found the stock setting for rebound and compression were quite a way off for me personally. Try stiffening up the rebound (turn clockwise) by a couple of turns - you should feel a good difference in that alone. Turn in will feel much quicker and it should hold the line better coming out of corners. Give it a go - if you don't like the feel then turn it back to stock Sam
Thanks for the info guys - I will have another go myself particularly with the rebound settings. If I'm still not happy it will have to be a track day visit - that is assuming I can get there without being booked for a small number plate, dark visor, noisy exhaust and my tax disc in my wallet!!!!!!!!!!!!!
