Iv got a non tuned engine. But a decent chassis. Will I be faster on a sorted Zx. IS it worth the cash and the not so crash proof bike ?
Or stay with mine and work at goin faster and not relying on the bike. I know I need better lines but not sure what else I can change
    Any help thanks

Jason O'halloran is doing not so bad on a Fireblade in BSB stock 1000.

Cheers scoob that was for my mate.this ones for me now he's not gonna sell me his engine.

Hmm Jason yesss that's more than true. He's more talented than me with more feel. Aaaaand honda backing with a perfectly balanced fireblade engine how it was designed without any abnormalities like piston weights being different. If u know what I mean

It is the bike of the moment, like the K5 Gixxer was at the time. I have seen someone sell a good 09 blade though for a 2012 zx10 and they just couldn't get on with it, ran ohlins same as the blade but couldn't get it set up or just didn't like it and sold it. Admittedly O'hallorans bike being an official Honda entry will be thee best superstock blade ever, but in 2012 on the samsung coloured bike (not an SP) he finnished runner up too. Yes he's an exceptional talent, but so are his competition in that class (mostly on zx10s). You will be better placed to judge than me as you are currently racing a blade, I'm just about too.

depends what sort of times and level you at at the moment.... will the zx make you go faster - yes imo. but isn't as user friendly as the blade.

tbh in my class (newcomers) top 5 are all blades and ZX10's but imo the blade riders are better riders squeezing more out of the bikes. The lads on ZX10's are newer new comers, bloody quick lads but I think the bike is helping them take it to the two blade guys.

interestingly, no one on a bm is at the sharp end (sorry jase) but I think that's more down to the fact folk cant afford to run and race them at our level.

zx10 will be my next bike, but cant help think I still have plenty to learn and could take the blade further.... but often wonder if my times would come down easy on the zx, but expensive upgrade to find out.

cookie who a lot of the lads on here know went from 1.50 on his blade to 1.48 2nd session on his zx10 at oulton which he knows inside out!

Thanks boys. It does seem like if people get on with it they go fast. Bit of a wide statement I said there but u should know what I mean I hope. I have seen monlimits rookie times and they are v fast on blades. Was wondering if they are standard engines ?
I just got a quote to tune mine to 190 hp ish. 4 grand. Which is what a Zx would be to buy extra.
I do love my bike and never thought I'd go as fast as I do on it. Not rapid but good enough and room for improvement I'd hope.
Would hate to buy one and miss my blade
Don't think I'd buy a bm I think a Zx would be the only one. And yea ur right about jumping on what's fashionable like the k6

Fashionable because its a bloody good package at reasonable prices (apart from repair bills ha)

the no limits lad Ollie who was winning until a couple bad rounds is putting out 172 at the wheel with engine work done inc blueprint etc but nothing major I believe. and yes hes fecking quick for a novice lol ;) other guy david hall is also rapid but not sure whats on his bike - think he has hrc loom and TC etc but nothing major bhp wise

Ollie selling up for a zx10 though......

never heard of anyone getting 190hp out of the blade though tbh, not sure the TT bikes have that at the wheel???

    you racing now?

Yea iv done a few races already mate. Won two rookie races at snet few weeks ago. But crashed pushin for lap times in last race lol. U can definitely get 190 out of a blade my mates got 196 but runs its 5% down.
Wow them two boys are goin really well. Not really novice times are they ? Fair crack tho that's really good goin. Not trying to start the when am I when am I not a rookie argument.
I noticed jack croucher went round snet in 59s on Zx and it wasn't working so used his gixxer and was 2.02 if I can remember that right. Not sure how sorted both are.
    I really don't know what's best

Nice one mate! That's awesome, what club that with? And times you doing??

Must admit, can't say I've seen anyone get that high on a blade but not doubting possible - not sure I'd want the maintenance of it though? ;)

Was dyno at same time as mine. It's def that powerful. Track electronics wanted to spunk all over it. Bemsee was with. Did a 59 which not breaking any records. 38 at cadwell. Will a Zx make it better or crash harder
