Ok guys and gals, that time has come and i'm trading in the blade for a new steed. Last week i took my forks into my local dealer to have the seals done and ended up having a lengthy chat with the guy in there, about new bikes, old bikes, and trade in deals. Now seeing as i bought the blade from them in the first place and they have done any major work that has needed doing, and they also know how clean and well looked after the bike is, they offered me a top drawer trade in on another bike. So last weekend i test rode 3 different bikes, 1/ Aprilia RSV4 APRC se. (oz wheels and upgraded ohlins front and rear) 2/ Aprilia RSV4 Factory (with race map) 3/ Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC All 3 where beyond words in there own way. No1. an amazing bike, focused, controlled and stupidly fast, it pulls like a train and stops just as quick, with multiple levels of traction and anti wheelie to help keep you out of trouble, plus launch control and 3 drive modes. No2. just like above but NO electronic trickery, but did have the aprilia race map installed which made the fueling as smooth as silk. No3 basically a slightly detuned ( 167.3 bhp ) RSV4 APRC with modified gearing 1 thru 3 to make it easier around town with the benefit of wide bars and a much easier sitting position. My sensible head came with me and i have ordered a 2013 ........ Tuono APRC. paper work completed, almost, and i should be picking up a 0000 mile bike tomorrow afternoon. I'm still hanging around if you'll have me and look forward to pitching the Ape against a plethora of fantastic blades on any of the summer run outs that get organised. I don't have a pic of the actual bike yet but will post some up tomorrow when i pick her up, so for now you'll have to make do with a stock picture. see you out soon.
Always good to get a new bike Lee and looks a top bike .They must be good salesmen for you to part with the blade but I can also see the benefits of a new warranty and of course a complete change of power and riding position .Please stay with us and looking forward to seeing you on a few ride outs .
I must admit I have been looking at one of these after a brief fling with a Speed triple and going back to a blade.....keep us posted on how it goes before I waste another shit load of money! ta
Nah, no way, not avin that mate! Sling yer hook Pal! Ya not welcome here no more with ya Italian bling!
Enjoy the sub 30 mpg fuel consumption, it's like the R1 I think for its love of the stuff - meant to be awesome bikes to ride. We need lots of pics ASAP when you collect it, including the clocks with zero miles of course!
Nice one, Lee. Looks like a lovely bike. Pleased you're not planning on ditching us along with the bike though. Place wouldn't be the same without you. Also, just as an aside, I know a supplier for shades and hair dye to go along with your new steed if you want to ping me a PM
Ok peeps picked her up this afternoon and took her for a short bimble, I think this is the start of a beautiful relationship !! Great guys at the dealership, they got me 4 years warranty, 12 months ticket and a full tank of juice to boot. Here's a few pics -
