Well I got the call I'd wanted this AM to say the bike was ready for delivery. The fork seal had came and they had borrowed the socket from a local bike shop. The reason behind the failure was apparently a burred fork stantion. They de-bured it before fitting the new seal and have been in contact with Honda with regards to what might be a quality controll issue. Anyway it's back and I haven't ridden it yet due to it Pissing it down here but I've bounced the buggery out of it and no leaks.

So tonight I fitted the tail tidy and plate. And also did the flapper mod. Nice easy mods too. Hope you like..

Glad you got it back fella, but I don't like the sound of the deburring is that a temporary fix?

It's the top of the fork stantion. The seal must of caught it upon installation I guess. It's one of those things that if it doesn't leak now it's not going to leak. But belive me I'll be keeping a very close eye on them.

Am I reading this correctly, it's a brand new bike that went back to a Honda dealer and they had to borrow tools from a local bike shop to fit a fork seal WTF?

Have to admit I don't like the sound of them taking what was probably a file in their workshop to a brand new fork, think I would be looking for a new fork rather than a bodged up one, but I guess if they have done it properly then it wont cause you any more bother.

Glad its back and done, not good it was bad in the first place.

Exhaust silencer flap. Disconnect the cable so it opens the large hole all the while. Give a much nicer deep note. Original sounds like a sewing machine otherwise

Did the flapper mod to mine, sounds loads better, even through ear plugs! Only had it about 3 weeks but love the thing to bits already. Awesome machine.

Regarding having a burr filed off, that wouldn't worry me. If it was a quality problem and Honda told the supplier, do you think the supplier would scrap all the parts? They wouldn't and probably wouldn't have capacity to remake stock if they did. They would just rework.... By filing the burr off. Not ideal I agree but provided it stops the seal being compromised on assembly it won't have any bearing on performance. Of course if it was just a handful of parts affected then they would just be scrapped.

You're doing the right thing. Keep your eye on it. If it's not leaked after 100 miles I think it will be sound.
