Hi , Bought a 1 owner Blade last month: 2 Owners Red & Purple 14K on the clock Full Akra Race exhaust R&G Crah Bungs I really like the repsol and have found a nice one with 10k on the clock, though its a standard bike in great condition...and less mileage.. will be looking to pay another £800 - £1000 with my bike for it.. so shall i do it?
Personally, I would say no. All you are gaining is a paint job and 4k miles less (which is nothing really). You are probably going to have to add on an exhaust (either a can or a full system) which is going to add on more £s.
We all want the same, as soon as we have one bike the other looks a better colour, etc. I already want a HRC after I bought black, at the time I thought black was best. My wife thinks unless you are a racer stick to what you have got. Rob.
lol...i just love the orange wheels... how much would an exhaust set me back? full and just the slipon? second hand..?
I love the Repsol scheme too and as for orange wheels!! A second hand slipon will be about £250 ish for something like a Yoshi. Very good systems. I went for a Quill about a year ago and love it. They fitted the can and mid pipe while I waited and it came out at £295 all in. Sounds immense. A full system is good, but to be honest with you, the header pipes are so good on most modern bikes, you don't honestly need a full system. It is worth checking whether you need to disconnect the exhaust flapper with the slipon you choose.

Looking at the ones fitted currently, they look spot on. With it being an Akra system, I would say it is a titanium system (could be wrong here). Not cheap at all and probably for a new full system about £1500 ish. Even a full used system will set you back about £700 or thereabouts.
Keep yours sounds like you have a good set up. That full akra is £1500ish new! I wouldn't swap for the sake of a paint job!!
Buy a second hand set of wheels and get them powder coat the correct orange colour, then get yourself a set of chinese repsol plastics. You can then change and change back as and when you feel like it, for the same money or slightly less than the cost of changing bikes!
Well don't be too surprised when i say ...... REPSOL all the way , I just love the Repsol colour scheme and would keep the bike standard (ish) anyway, a full system etc is just not necessary at the usual legal (ish) speeds we all do. An owner of a Sportsbike (which ever one), has to have in the back of their mind how the bike looks, its one of the main reasons we choose a certain colour scheme so carefully.... Repsol just wipes the floor with virtually any other paint job, and i am sorry to say it certainly does with the purple one.
I used to have a blade last year RR4 with a yoshi slip on and a PC - that was quick! that i dropped but managed to get original repsol panels for from a friend who had some liying around.....but never got the wheels done as i could not find the paint code anywhere..ended up selling the bike.. but thinking do i really need the full system - i only commute to and from work.. the guy i bought the bike from, did not know it had a full system on it..i only found out once i changed the oil... lol
06 \ 07 little out of my budget.. i do like shape of the RR4 \ RR5...and i think i prefer this year over the newer ones...but thats just me...
Anyway...i will be going today to see the bike near 4pm..will be riding up.. Managed to wash mine yesterday and even polish it up...looking nice and clean...! if i like the bike, and he gives me a good deal i will take it, otherwise i will walk away - i mean ride away...
I personally love the RR4/5 too, hence why I haven't changed mine. Would love an RR8 onwards, but until I sell my bloody house which I still own with my ex, then I am sticking with the RR5. they are still a great bike and just because it isn't the latest, doesn't mean it is a bad bike. far from it!
