Just cleaning my Sidi Vertigos, and noticed the soles are worn right down to virtually nothing, although the boots are still like new... 3 years old though. I've just ordered some new replacement Sidi soles, would a cobbler be able to fit them? cheers.
My thoughts exactly! By pure coincidence I threw my old pair of Sidis out today. Same thing, worn out sole but they're a little dated now. You get great feel from the footpegs with Sidis but too much walking and not enough riding = worn sole Si.
I know your asking about having the soles replaced on the vertigo's mate, and i'm sure a good cobbler could do it, as they're only glued on, but as a heads up, the sole section around the ball of your foot on the new vortice boot can be unscrewed and replaced, great design. Also, I emailed TCX about the soles on my competizone goretex and they replied saying that if i sent them off to one of their uk main dealers they would replace the soles no problem but i'd have to cover postage both ways aswell as the repair costs, seeing as they were getting a bit old and tired i opted for new boots.
Cheers lee. I'll see if timpsons can re sole them. It seems a shame and a little extravagent to throw a near mint pair of boots away for the sake of £15 plus fitting.
I saw these for sale the other day and wondered where you could get it done. My boots are not that old but the left one always wares down funny due to limping. Let us know how you get on please si
had my vertigo's done last summer by local cobbler,as already said just bonded on,now they are as good as new.
my Sidi Corsa Air's are about 4 years old and well worn. I'm replacing them this week. main reason is parts falling off, worn through toe slider past the replacement bit so generally need updating.
Mine are also done with the leather on the toe worn a little just above the sole. I've bought the same pair again as I like them so much so bring on the squeaky boots lol
i got my old ones done at timpsons shoe thingy - £25 which was a bargain imo. the soles were worn through like johnny bags. very painful to walk in! last year on the journey to and from italy the rain was so bad it disolved the glue off and i had to ride back with the soes gaffer taped on. so im not sure what the original glue it but its obviously water soluble. if i ever get them done again ill get trainer soles put on them... better for walking in and less chance of dropping the bike at lights & parking on loose ground etc
