Just wondering why people buy a certain type of silencer? Hear alot about power but not sure how much difference thats makes to us mere mortals. At the moment l have a akrapovic, beowulf, arrow gp2, arrow full bsb system, scorpion, taylor made....So is it down to POWER LOOKS NAME COST I would fit the TM as l think it looks the best Ooops sorry can't spell silencer now, mind you it is 7 30 and l'm watching match of the day lol
I have my gpr thunderslash because it sounds the dogs and it doesnt sound too bad either. im not really bothered about gaining 2-3 bhp as i know i dont need it
When i bought my first rr8 I went for looks and bought the taylormade, but it did prove a little too noisy and my insurance co didn't like it either. I then went for a scorpion power cone which was great, bought because it was road legal and cost less than the akra. On my latest I paid for the akra, it is very well made and I love the sound, crisp without being too much. If I think back to exactly why, I think it was a combination of wanting something mr Honda approved with (no warranty issues) plus I didn't want to have a PC added, and I had always wanted to try one.... I'm not disappointed at all, but the TM still wins on looks.
I want it all, looks, weight, performance, quality etc so the answer is simple Full Ti Akrapovic. Arrow are just as good IMO and Yosh have taken a dive in the last few years I mean even the stainless is now magnetic wtf. Not into the vast of the others as cheap and nasty build with little r and d. Also it's a superbike and should remain just that so I don't fit anything that does not gain performance or loose weight.
I have a full Titanium Arata System with black silencer (really wanted an Akra but they stopped making em for 06). Brought it because I wanted the extra power, lighter weight, build quality so it lasts, the looks and the sound. Got it all, which was what I wanted, no one reason stands out as being the main one for me. When I have brought end cans it has been for looks and sound only.
I'm gonna throw a beowulf on mine during the rebuild. It's English made, just up the road actually, lifetime warranty and they sound good. Oh, and they're cheap.
i,m going for the gpr titanium. like the look and the sound. not bad price as well. although if i,d bought it at the scottish bike show i,d would,ve saved £40.
I went for the yoshi r77, great looks, nice sound and a nice bit of bling for the bike, and not too bad price wise as got from the u.s
i have an Arrows Moto GP titanium full system. Looks the nuts, sounds even better and not many about. But that's just my opinion
I have a Leo Vince Gp Pro Evo 2 can on mine it sound amazing and look the part! Am not to sure of the power increase tho
If you gents are planning to do trackdays with yer new cans, get it tested first with a dB killer/ baffle. Manufacturer claims for dBs not always accurate. If too loud, I can help.
