Perhaps a daft question so sorry and thanks in advance for any help offered. When fitting a PCV to an 08 Blade do I need a dynojet o2 elimnator as well or just put the standard oem Honda sensor back in ?
If you don't the PCV can not map below around 3500 rpm (known as the closed loop zone, the area tested for euro3 emission laws) as the sensor sends poor O2 readings to the ECU to trim the fueling in that zone. If you unplug it the lack of the heater circuit registers a FI fault code, the O2 elim stops the faul code.
Cheers guys appreciate the help. Great write up as always Arthur. Sounds like just the kit as one of the main reasons for me wanting to fit a PCV is it feels a little twitchy down at 3500 rpm on a steady part throttle in town.
hmm you guys are making me consider a PCV now, ever since ive owned the new repsol Ive found it more twitchy at lo lo revs in traffic compared to my old carbed RRV. im assuming this may smooth out the throttle even with standard can etc??
To be honest, the bike is still twitchy below 2k on a steady, part throttle with the PCV, but miles better above that range. With the baffle in mine, it's better, but the bike was mapped without the baffle in.
Just fitted one to my 58 plate trackbike complete with eliminator (thanks Arthur / Jamie) for advise with plug..... great bit of kit..
Steve, I got mine done at Motrac Racing mate. Steve did my Daytona too, he's a very knowledgeable chap, and blanked of the pair system as part of the process. Motrac : Homepage He took nearly 5 hours to get it spot on.
