Excited to be booked on this and have only ever done one track day before this 2 years back which was on a hired 600cc blade. Now I have my 1000cc blade and its de-catted and has a a mivv x dual can on it. I have called a couple of bike shops in my area but they don't do a decibel test. Any ideas on how I make sure I pass on the day? Also would be interested to know if anyone else is gonna be there.
Was at Silverstone the other week...our day cancelled due to horrendous rain and too much water on track anyway....in the briefing they advised the 102 was a ride by and various monitors all around the circuit. If you get pulled on track for noise they will black flag you and do a static test at 105. Think the guy said at 7500 revs regardless of size of bike but beware if no baffle and fail static then no second chance :/ so would say deffo fit a baffle for starters.
Sorry to hear about the cancellation. You always hope for blue skys. I do have baffles & ride with them in but as I have no concept of what is considered too loud it makes it impossible to judge. I have come across the acoustic-fil exhaust silencer which you wrap around the baffle. Not sure if this would effect performance. I may take it all with me and if i get flagged then apologise wrap it up and try again.
Echo what Shammy said. You'd struggle to fail 105 static, but they do say no 2nd chance, so if you're really unsure then either run with a baffle anyway, or get it tested in advance or on the day.
I would have thought I would be ok, however I emailed silverstone yesterday and they have invited my down on the 2nd to be tested. Might be the safest thing to do, just so i don't ruin the actual day messing around with baffles.
