Going to a 60s themed fancy dress do for my mums 50th, my sis has suggested I wear a suit with a skinny tie??

Where do I buy one of these fabled dress items?

    Cheers

Primani. They're actually back in fashion again now. My son had one for his Prom from there.

Sadly, they seem back in vogue amongst the uber-trendy office lads (along with shirts with piping, and winkle-picker style shoes....... urgh!!!!)...... so try Burton/Next or similar high-street vendor of cheaply-made expensively-sold shite!

It's difficult to define tie width based merely on 'skinny'. I myself lean towards 2", or 50mm at base of 'pointy end'. This allows me to perform the classic '4 in hand' knot with sufficient surplus tie to touch belt, rather than leaving said 'pointy end' beached on the apex of my lardy gut. Wider ties will inevitably lead to beaching and subsequent intervention by Greenpeace.

Should you wish to 'left field' a 60's party for a guaranteed Wow! response in skinny tieitude, seek out the almost extinct knitted skinny tie with a square cut 'Pointy end'.

Knicker elastic will snap at 100 yards...

use a normL TIE, and knot it so the skinny end hangs down, and tuck the big fook off kipper bit in your shirt.

Giv tiold me he used to do this when he was in borstal in 1963.
