Well chaps how are things.? Haven't been on here in a while as I have been trying to keep myself busy. After 22 years of smoking 20 a day iv quit. Feel a lot better now I'm off them and it is getting easier now with the cravings and that. So to keep my mind occupied I went and took the fairings off he blade o change he oil and filter and got a bit carried away. Off came the rad, exhaust and down pipes, clocks and brackets tank cover airbox fuel injectors fuel rail comPlete rear end of the bike. Talk about getting carried away I ended up with a frame and engine up on some stands. Have it all cleaned now and back together and after hours of scrubbing and getting the motor looking like it just came out of the factory I covered it all back up with pipes rad and bits. But very happy now it's all done and back together.
    I little teaser

Well done there speedytwin, it's not easy but deffo worth the effort! I was a 20 a day man for 9 years but kicked it into touch about 22 yrs ago, and yes it's another battle trying to get the weight off as unfortunately that's what happens. But I'd rather be overweight than a stinking chimney eh. Lol. Good for you!

First of all Speedy congrats on what is a massive decision ,i have never smoked and therfore hate it however i am not here to slag everybody off that smokes as when you get a bit wiser you can see that it is a very aggressive drug and perhaps a very hard thing to let go. When young Mike was about 14 i caught him smoking and did the good dad bit by making him smoke one after the other until he was sick which of course had no effect so you can imagine how super gutted i was ,he carried on although i never saw him once until Jake was born six years ago and decided to stop ,which he did and now the boring fuk moans about everybody else smoking .On the subject Dan brought in about weight gains when he stopped ,i have put some weight on and don't smoke so i might buy one of them toy ciggerettes and walk about with one in the mouth and with a bit of luck lose some xmas beef lol. So to all that are thinking of giving up do it and buy that new bike and ps you all stink!!.

I really keep saying I should quit again. I stopped for 7 years and was well out of it. Got divorced joined that social group again and there you go smoking again. It's my own fault. I hate the day I started! I had a go again and did 10weeks. I am just weak. :(. But I shall keep having a crack. One day. I may just succeed. :)

I've never smoked. Never even been tempted really. But I've always tried to not be evangelistic about it, even when it comes to second hand smoke and it never bothered me much.

However. Since the ban on smoking in public places I've noticed things have changed. I can even smell someone smoking in the car in front whilst driving. Is this because the background level of cigarette smoke has been effecting me all these years and now smoking is rarer I'm only just noticing it.

If so I'll be a darned sight more concerned about any long term effects than I was before the ban.

Thanks for the kind words lads.
Today was not an easy day after burying the only auntie I ever had. Had a few beers but managed to stay off the smokes so far. Thanks to my fantastic wife.
Role on January. Things can only get better. :-(
