Thanks to all who helped so much with my questions when i joined in May, but I agreed to trade the Blade in yesterday against a '61plate VFR1200. I love the Blade but I just have to be more comfortable, usual old-age problems of bad back and knees! I know I'll miss the Blade but hope the VFR is a good compromise. Cheers WyreFlyer.
met a bunch of hooligan dutch guys in Italy, all on sports bikes with the exception of a guy on one of these, they were not hanging around and there was a fella on one of these knee down on the open road - i was VERY impressed with the bike (and the fella).... sure you will love it mate. here you go, couple of pics... check his tyres out, no strips on that dude!!
Thanks Jimbo, I really enjoyed the test ride yesterday, so looking forward to picking it up on friday.
no worries - my only gripe was the seat, looks a bit plasticy!? but an after market gel seat is prob the first mod you old boys do anyway hey!! lol sod tail tidies and noisy cans...
One of the comments that keeps cropping up in reviews is that the seat is really comfy, just doesn't look it. I've already been on some forums and Dam do a great end can in polish chrome. So old - yes, past it - possibly, giving up - NEVER!
Lovely bike! My boss bought one brand new earlier in the year. He loves it! He's already done a 3000 miler round Spain, and had nothing but praise for the bike! Said the engine in particular is an absolute peach. Looks good in white too i might add. Enjoy Mike
Thanks Mike, that's good to hear. I wanted the red one but it was sold when I got there, the white is definitely growing on me though
Good luck with your new bike cant say i have noticed any about but does look nice, might order one for Ken.
I bet they are but thats why they are exclusively sold in the North West of England (There is a waiting list in Cheshire ) .
I would say i am dissapointed in you but the replacement is white so i cant. Hope you enjoy your new toy
Great bike, Had mine for 2 1/2 years, traded it in for a new 2012 Blade But it s a great machine, one of the most comfortable bikes I have ever owned, 500 miles in a day and I really could have done it again. It did have its flaws, fueling was not the best but was improved with an update. In the end I bought a Pan for touring duties and wanted something a bit sharper and so hence the Blade. Enjoy
You just posted 'Funny old world' on my opening post at VFR Club, you're not kidding! Hope you enjoy the Blade as much as I'm going to enjoy the comfort of the VFR!
Loving it so far, rubbish time off the year to land a new bike But looking forward to my runs up North. Glad you liked the VFR, its not a bike that can be a mistake, charming V4, pretty quick too.
