So let me get this straight ,you've just openly admitted on a public forum to racing on a public highway and clocking 151mph and want advice on what screen to use????????????
Pmsl:d You'd better watch out for the unmarked Mitsubishi evo that patrols the A331! And I can vouch for that
I have a genuine honda tinted double bubble which really makes a difference over the standard one from 50mph onwards. I didn't get much buffering hitting 160+ on track recently and I'm 6ft 2 so tucking in isn't easy....
Yeh . . . i would be pressing the delete button asap But to answer your question i have clocked 180 with a standard screen and had no issues but that was on private land and not a public highway
Oh God ..... did I say I was on the A331, sorry, I meant at a recent track day !! my bad... navvy, never ever used a double bubble, sounds like I really need one next time i'm on the A331 .... I mean track day...
176 (on my driveway) I'm 6'4 and a gram or 2 over weight and couldn't go any faster as couldn't hold on anymore
Who ? Am I being super naive here? I understand it is a taboo subject but anyone can say anything right? proof an all that? Is Hercule Poirot a forum member...?
Well if you are ever caught speeding that statement could be used as evidence against you in a case as has happened a few times already. It helps paint a picture of you 'guy openly boasts of speeding online' etc I'm not saying the rest of us don't but it's not typical to boast of criminal behaviour openly online unless you're some sort of psycho about to commit an atrocity.....
Clocked 174 with my Sport Touring Screen recently, including having a Tank Bag and Full Kreiga Tour kit on board! The 'Track Day' lads were well impressed!
Navvy, I really wasn't boasting, trust me - not my style... but your not to know that so I understand your comment. I was just trying to assertain how other riders cope with a standard screen at high speeds .... I have edited the header post to avoid a Dukes of Hazard style blockade on my way home tonight down the A331 !! Sinewave ... Most excellent my good fellow !
My bike is a lot older than most of you guys and the standard screen was really uncomfortable at exactly 69 mph on national speed limit designated dual carriageways and exactly 59mph on national speed limit designated single carriageways. When that cracked and it was nearly impossible to get another Honda one (Bennetts), I replaced it with a double bubble, which meant that at the above listed speeds and locations I was much more comfortable and therefore 'safer' while riding. In fact, I daresay, that it may even be technically possible to improve upon those speeds if you were so inclined.....technically..
I have somewhere a pic of my Tom tom reading accurately 130+ in a 30MPH zone. And I am more than happy to post it up if I find the pic I never said what I was in at the time. Not boasting just a fun pic I managed to take
