when I know they still have a few issues. And I know the big H ignores all the problems owners experience etc etc etc.

I know what you mean, but do you know what convinced me?

I started to listen to the owners rather than the press and options of non-owners. ;)

Yes but I’ve already had first hand experience of the woolly throttle on a two hour test ride. But I still want one.

Early days for me but it couldn't feel any difference from the 2015 I traded. I did hear some talk about tyres and was happy enough that mine came with Bridgestones, not the shite OEM Dunlops.

Think of it as entering into a new relationship. You find a prospective partner that glows with life's ideals: Beauty, value, good handling, AND cleans up well after an afternoon's dirty session.

Sure, you must be patient, and might have to accept a few idiosyncrasies, but you'll be happy in the long run. As a bonus, if things do go wrong, there's no arguing over splitting possessions - you simply ditch the prob and opt for a newer model.

Which one are you considering, the standard bike or the SP?

I'd say go and ride another, might settle your mind one way or another.

I considered a whole different range of bikes before I bought another Blade.

Have you gone out and looked at, sat on and test ridden the other stuff out there?

I looked at the R1, R6, Superduke, ZX10R, Speed Triple, Duke 959, Supersport and Diavel. I finally got to the GSXR1000, Street Triple R/RS and Blade in the end. Don't know why but I just couldn't love the looks of the Street Triple, although price wise it was a relative bargain and get's outstanding reviews. In the end it was really close between the GSXR and Blade, both down to the two deals and discounts on offer. For me it was the Blade in the end due to the relationship I've got with the dealer.

Well DF had mine a while now and been on track a couple of times, not any issues at all with the throttle.
I did come from an 09 so did notice quite a bit if difference.
I have tested the traction control and it has saved my arse a couple of times, so all in all i'm very pleased with it
I also tested most of the other offerings and decided the blade was the best for me

Just out of interest what tyres are you running?

I had more or less minimal to no throttle free play on my 2015, it was always something I meant to alter but never did get around to. I haven't really done anything in the way of real miles on the new bike, but I didn't notice the throttle as anything that stood out. Mind you I've spent most of the time concentrating on not hoking the horn as I turn in. ;)

mine has the Bridgestone's which I have found very good, didn't suffer the horn relocation problem as its the same on my VFR1200
although i did take a little while to get used to it when I bough that

Mine's on Bridgestones and it does make me wonder if there's something to the tyre/traction thing??

To be honest if the bike I was offered a deal on had the OEM Dunlops the deal would have hung on them being swapped out. The deals were so close between the Blade and the Suzuki, that if I'd have needed to pay to change the tyres I think the GSXR would have won out.

The GSXR was my second choice, the blade just felt better quality

A bit of personal preference for me but the Dunlops are also an old tyre.

I had a chat the the guys in the tyre place the last time I had a pair swapped out and they were saying Honda use Japanese OEM tyres to keep the cost down. They reckon they aren't even the same tyre you can go out and buy from the fitters. I've no reason not to believe that, the tyre place I used is well respected and he had no reason to bullshit, he'd already got a sale.
