Hi chaps as I mentioned in my other thread I've been looking at this repsol 16 plate sp is there anything to look out for because I do really like it but no test ride is a bit of a downer. Its done 4800 miles full history one owner ect up for 10.5k.

I don't think there is anything to be worried about at that age. Has it been raced?

I would go for late 2015 minus Hondas shite c-abs and avoid the brake lottery.

Honda C-ABS is to be avoided at all times. Doesn't matter if they are giving them away. Unless you like variable biting point, (if at all), front brakes.

I had my 2015 Repsol with ABS for 2 years/3.5k miles and never had a single issue with the ABS just to give some perspective to the above.

I think @Sp0oner & @Noel that might be because of your low mileage. Sometimes mine would go 6k without a hitch, but obviously doing around 13k a year it did crop up several times.
So if you'd have bought my bike say at the start of the 6k and after a bleed then it would be possible on low mileage to have it a few years and not have the issue.
I'm not saying that it's a 100% problem but I think it's big enough worldwide if you trawl through the net like I did, to consider not getting one. The non abs is cheaper/easier to bleed and you won't be cleaning wee stains outa your pants lol ;)

Lozzy don’t get me wrong i’m not denying the issue exists i’ve read the abs thread but was just saying i’d not experienced it on mine. The way some have gone on about it would make you think every abs bike has it all the time which simply isn’t the case.

Yes I agree mate...just didn't want the guy to fall foul of it if he was planning on keeping it long time/higher mileage than usual :)

I only had my 15 plate three months - lost a fortune (buying high in July and selling low in October) but one episode was enough for me.

If I’d read about the troubles with it I wouldn’t have bought the abs, but like I said in my last post no problems with mine

The system can be removed (though not done it myself admittedly) but its not a 5 minute job. However, there are threads on here of how to carry it out and members are always ready to jump in with answers to the questions that will no doubt crop up in the process
