    Righto, here we go.

Ive noticed on the left hand side of my bike a cable operated item which has a lot of slack in the cable - see picture:

Below the device [circled in red] i have put a close-up picture of how loose the cable is.

Anybody out there tell me what it is - and how to adjust?

    Big thanks!!

What bike is it bud ? It's hard to tell where is by picture only thing cable related is throttle bit this is on the throttle bodies really can't see this until air box off and you could check by pulling throttle. Other is exhaust servo motor this is on the undertail with usually a plastic shroud covering it on the 04-13 blades

Sorry. It's an 05 and this can be seen from the left hand side through the centre panel. It looks like its below the throttle bodies.

It doesnt respond to any throttle movement and i think the exhaust servo has been removed for the Akro - all done by previous owner.

    Big thanks WW!

I'm looking forward to having some time to take the thing apart and familiarise myself with it. Been snowing today and the garage is freezing ;)

Can you tell me is it straightforward getting the panels, tank, airbox off etc?

Yeah buddy just take your time seat off then 4 tank screws remove the tank cowl use if you can the screwdriver provided to take top of the airfilter box off as screws can chew up easily . Just unplug ecu disconnect fuel line with a 10mm or 8mm bolt watch you don't lose seal well oring and have some kitchen roll at hand to catch just a bit of petrol I had my 07 to bits loads of times once you have done it once mate you will be fine . Wiring will only plug into the one it is designed for and all falls back to place . Good plan aswell if you are going to leave it stripped for a bit put screws back into there hole then you ain't got a big pot of screws lying about . I done a spark plug change in maintenance think it shows the blade pretty stripped in that buddy if your close and need anything I'm always about to lend a hand

Ill look in maintenance section later for your post.

    Thanks again!
