I'm thinking of changing my sprockets firstly what's best to go for
    -1 f +2 R ??

How much does this affect your speedo?

Here is a gearing calculator I uploaded CBR1000RR_Gearing.xls
Use a speedo healer and sat nav to calibrate your speedo
    Properly.
I do one off the front one on the back.

I went 1up at the front on a previous blade and wish I had left alone .You do get faster take off but what I found was going into a corner the bike seemed to be "on ...off" so as I went to put some low power on into the corner it was like there was to much power and the bike ended up going wide .It also may have been my crap riding style !

I went +2 on the rear and it feels great, better pull off and don't seem to have any problems in the corners, although I have not riden it hard on bends yet due to weather, roll on the spring ;)

I worked out that the speedo was over reading by about 10% so got a speedo healer, as I like it be accurate :)

-1f and +2r will over read by more

I get my bike work done by BSD and I asked Mark there what I should go for for fast road and occasional track. I told him I was considering -1 +2 as many people seem to go for this. He strongly recommended I just go -1 on the front and leave the rear alone. He said it would give the little bit of extra acceleration I wanted but without too much loss of top speed without everything getting too messy.

So I decided to listen to his advice as I value his judgement, he also as an aside convinced me to stick with a 530 chain as I mainly use the bike on the road.

Getting it done in March when the bike gets it's makeover, so I will be interested to see what difference there is.

I think if you are a trackday rider or racer you cater your gearing to where you are going and thus need quite a few different set ups.

Givover do you mean -1 at the front for more lift?

I do -1f +1r as the blade works out that for one off the front is like adding 2.5 to the rear
So its not as harsh if you find dropping one at the front too much.

i've got -1 front and +4 at the rear atm, makes for a lively front end but gives far better drive out of the corners (track not road),it's track dependant though, for donny i'd take a tooth off the rear, and for some euro tracks go back to near standard(bar the front).

Too small a front will damage your chain and possibly the slipper that protects the swingarm. Better , but more expensive to go bigger on the rear. I have -1 front, +2 rear on my RRw and it can float the front wheel in first 3 gears.

I find most OEM Speedo's over read by a good 3-4mph which is only to be expected as the OEM's would be sued if ya got nicked at 35mph when the Speedo showed 30 on a subsequent test.

I use the temporary radar traps strapped to lamp posts by the Rozzers in built up areas or in country villages for a gauge/testing.

They usually have smilie face if 30 or under and turn to a sad face or go Red if over.

Cruising past at 33-34mph on my Speedo usually gives me a smiley face! :)
