Hi only just joined forum. Had blades for about 15 years now the one I've got now had for 10 years. Over the last few years had a problem with starting. Bike cranks over really slowly. Put it in a few garages who all ways blame the starter. Put two new batteries on in the last 4 months the latest one on Tuesday a Yuasa still the same problem. Been serviced regularly had a new starter relay. Has anyone else had similar problem.

    Welcome to the forum mate.
What year/miles is the bike ? I’ve a 2005 that doesn’t exactly whip the starter round but that seems normal to my year.
The starter motors do have history of magnets breaking up within them but if it was my bike I’d probably chance it with a second hand motor to see if it solves the issue.
Does it always fire up every time and your concern is the slow crank ? Did either of the new batteries make a difference initially ? Have you checked your voltages before start up ? I’m guessing you’ve inspected all of your wiring and connections.

It’s a 2007 with 19000 on the clock. Most of the time does start up eventually. Connections have been checked so will try a new starter. Thanks for your help.

Before you do measure the voltage drop on the feeds to the starter, especially the ground to frame. I've had duff earth straps cause the same problems on another bike and they're way cheaper than starters.

And was the starter checked? Had similiar issues with mine, both times starter needed to be replaced.
