    Hey guys,

been a while since being on here...been away on a secret squirrel mission...or two!

But I take the Blade out the other day and come across the batt almost dead (The batt is only 3 months old and it started fine when going to work). I get home from work after the blade came to life on the last breath of the batt and didn't notice any lights flickering or dimmed or anything different for that matter. I tried to start the bike once I got home and it was as flat as a doornail so no charge got into the battery over the hours ride.

After investigating this issue it seems the model Blades between 04-07 (Mine is the HRC 07 Blade) they have major issues around the 18-25K mark with stators constantly going and regulators blowing.

Really need some help with this as its driving me fooking crazy, I have a brand new 2006 Regulator/Rectifier on as the dealer said it was the only one he had in and that it would be the same as the 07 one. The charge in the batt which was fully recharged and was comfortably holding 12.4v when the bike started it dropped to 10.3v and when I revved it to 5000RPM it went upto 12.6v and no higher.

So is it the stator issue or a batt issue from having gone dead or wtf? It seems there are so many issues with the 04-07 model blades with the stators and regulators at such low mileage is it something that Honda has an answer for or what the hell is going on?

Your help would be much appreciated thanks all :)

Yes, its a common problem, do a search on here or other blade sites, if you are lucky and you are good customer of your local Honda dealer they may do it under warranty - more info on this thread.

I can almost guarantee that you have the same issue as me, you might be eligible for the Honda warranty though as they go back six years, mine's an 04 and they wouldn't honour the work on mine CNUTS!... Anyhow it's a new uprated Honda OEM stator and flywheel at the princely cost of £344.00 including vat that I've just had fitted and it's all working again. Don't do what I did the first time it went in my ownership (it's gone three times now) and just get the stator re-wound as it will only burn out again in a few thousand miles.

    Good luck.

P.s. If this is any good to you it's the uprated stator and flywheel brand new and OEM too... I tried to do a deal with him last week with a buy it now but he said auction only but I couldn't wait that long, so you may end up with a bargain and he may end up with less money than I was prepared to pay him for it.
