Just a few pictures of the inside of the left engine case.
I had a small oil leak which having done the repair may have been down to a previous owner having cause to open up the case and not seal it proper after.
I was wondering what is find on opening having read various forums on what I may encounter.
The bolts came undone really easy which made me think too easy ?..
A tap with a wooden mallet and the case cover pulled away relatively easy.
As you can see there was a tiny amount of bonding with no gasket. This cleaned up easily enough and a very lite rubbing down cleaned up the metal.
I've then used a gasket plus a thin layer of bond.
The amount of oil summed up to a thimble full at most which wiped away easily.
The slight burnt coils, 3 on the ends causes no concern, touch wood I've had no issue with power through the electrics.
Refit, tighten and I've left it to dry til tomorrow.
As I say, just some pics which may help another member
