Last night I was doing wintermaintanance on my "new" bike, a 2009 HRC Fireblade. As the previous owner retouched the stator cover with a touch of black paint, I wanted to restore it to original.

I already bought a replacement (original) cover, and deassembled the stator. When I wanted to put the stator in the new cover, it turned out the stator does not fit the inner ridge and mounting holes! The inside code on the new stator cover states '10 whereas the current cover states '08. Was there a change in the stator and the cover over the years?

Ended up in reassembling the stator with the original resprayed cover...

    Any ideas?

Yes the crankshaft changed in 2010 with updated rotor so sounds like stator and cover changed.

sounds about right, tried to fit a 2010 stator to my 2009 cover and it was too big. Just get some GB race covers!
