Hi All... I want to change the standard halogen headlight bulbs to a much brighter bulb and need advice please. I purchased a HID kit a couple of months ago and attempted to fit this but found it to be too bulky and cumbersome to fit the ballast box in the front of the bike so extended wires and tried to fit under the seat.. but bloody thing didn't work so gave up on that idea (money well spent)... then purchase some H7 LED bulbs from ebay which work but not very bright - these are only 750 lumens each. Can anyone advise on a suitable 'bright' headlight bulb at a good price please - don't wanna keep spending out to find im throwing money away. Thanks Its for a 2016 blade.
I bought and fitted 2 of these recently. They have a built in cooling fan to disipate heat. Been on all day rideouts and they've been absolutely fine. A bit fiddly to fit but just about fit behind the original rear caps on each side, so no need to mod wiring or the back of the lights. And they are very bright! https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B076ZFQZ3Z
I fitted similar, but just in the dipped beam light as I didn't know how reliable it would be. Getting a decent (legal) beam pattern is a bit hit & miss though. I found I needed to twist the bulb in its holder to get anything acceptable. I had a Firestorm previously & fitted a Cyclops bulb. A bit expensive (£85) but that was much better & passed MOT with no problems..
Attached image of current blade - needs a good clean . Have ordered those bulbs and hopefully arrive on monday. Will update on how i get on with them. Cheers
I wanted a brighter and more whiter light and ended up going hid for a while. Fitted the ballast behind the side fairings. But then had to change when I fitted my double headlight module, so went with LED. I fitted these, really white and amazing bright, even with the flyeye on my headlights. Would totally recommend them to anyone. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/283120330860
Regular halogen bulb produce between 1200~1500 lumen (for regular wattage) from what I canremember. LED's tend to be lower than that but you see a wave of them (mostly chinese) claiming amazing light output. Difficult to judge without trying them on or measuring. I personnaly dislike light tremperatures above 4000K for driving or doing detailed work as they are harsh to the eye (not to mention other road users). I belive philips now do a range of H1~7 LED bulbs. PRicy but they know what they are doing

Bike is under cover in the garage. I'll wheel it out at the weekend and get some snaps of the lights for you
Sorry for the delay - here are a few pics of mine that I linked to above. Tried to show the beam pattern. The bike is on front and rear paddock stands, for reference.
