My knee's are marking the paint on my tank and I thought fitting Stomp Grips would help. What is the general opinion out there. Do they damage your leather, are they a helpful mod or a waste of time, etc?

I done done the same.. a small stones or something must have flung up between my knee and the tank and scratched about so i stuck grips on to hide it.

I used to grip hard with my legs anyway but they definatly lock you in better and take a bit of weight of your arms. Deffo recommend them

fitted them to the blade ASAP and love them. really help grip your knees and should also do a great job of protecting the tank

I've had them on my past few race bikes and if I'm honest don't really find them any differed so haven't bothered putting them on my blade.

I suppose they might protect the paint but I've not had any problems leathers scratching the tank either.

Had them on my r6, just purchased some for my blade as it doesn`t feel right without them. slight marks on my leathers , but nothing drastic.

Have used them on the last 4 bikes and would not want to be without them . As others have said ... protects the paint and stops you sliding forward when you are REALLY on the brakes

As an alternative you may wanna try techspec gripster snakeskin, got that on the rc8 and it's not as aggressive as Stompgrip but does the same job....looks better on the RC too as the Stompgrip is rounded edges.

    Just a thought

Has anybody got any pics of either Stompgrip, techspec or the Honda carbon knee pads (look like techspec copy's to me) fitted to a black and White blade?

I've got techspec fitted to the rc8 but that's a plain tank so it looks fine, the problem I'm seeing with the blade I've got is that tank graphic White bits that swoop up at an angle and can't quite make out if the techspec or Honda knee pads will fit just underneath the White swoop so just on the black area of the bike.

I know I could go with clear Stompgrip but I didn't like the feel of that on the R1 so am hoping the other two choices work out :)

Never used them. But i was talking to a guy on a Repsol blade this weekend and he complained of a layer of crap that forms around the top edge (He had the clear ones) Hope This helps.

I also have clear ones on my Repsol and they do get pretty scummy after a while...
